Yesterday my brother's god-parents and family came over to Singapore from New Zealand. I think i was more happy to see them compared to my brother. The family of 6 migrated to New Zealand 4 years ago and are back to celebrate CNY and to visit relatives and friends.

When I met the 4 girls, they all spoke with the caucasian accent. It was kinda wierd hearing ex-Singaporeans speak with the accent as Singaporeans are known to have no accent. Anyway, the girl that made my night last night was none other than baby Fiona! =)

Baby Fiona is 19 months old. According to her parents, she fears guys carrying her and sometimes would even cry when guys try to carry her. But yesterday, when i went over to greet them, baby Fiona suddenly stretched out her hands from her mum's arms to my direction. It was obvious that she wanted me to hold her. At first, i hesitated cos I havent held a baby in a long time and i was afraid she might feel uncomfortable and all and worse still cry in my arms. I would be totally lost and desperate. So when i held her for the first time, i had to take some time adjusting her position in such a way that she would be soothed in my arms. Finding the right and exact rest place for her in my arms took me close to a min! I just couldnt bear hearing the little one crying in my arms and hence i carried her in such a way that she sat on my arms.

During our bonding time, it was happy and wierd at the same time. I was really happy cos baby Fiona was in my arms and she made me happy whenever she smiled at me. The wierd thing was she just wanted me to carry her and no one else! When my sister tried to carry her, she snubbed her by turning away from her and grabbed on tighter to me! It seemed as though we were inseparable.

At the play ground, all the little kids were playing catching and of course baby Fiona wanted to be like all the little ones and run about but i was afraid that she might fall and hurt herself and hence i took the liberty of holding her in my arms and running after everyone. When i was finally tired, i put her down and let her run about with her sisters while i sank myself into the nearest seat. That was when my face lit. When baby Fiona saw me sitting down, she looked in my direction with that cute and sad face as she wanted me to play with her. But i was really tired and what i did was i just threw out my arms, hoping she would perhaps run to me and give me a warm embrace and that's what she did! I can still vividly remember her face litting up the moment i threw my arms out at her and she running to me and hugging me. Everything seemed so perfect. I pictured myself being a father and my daughter running to me and giving me a sweet, warm embrace. The smell of her sweat and baby skin still lingers in my mind...

When i had rested enough, i carried her away from the bust of the playground and over to a new year stage performance about a metre or 2 away from the playground which we were at. That was when all her other sisters crept behind me and started tickling me. Oh my gosh! All the tickles made my knees weak and i had to endure them so as not to drop baby Fiona. I even started running away from them to avoid all those tickles and all. When i sanked myself at the playground seat again, her sister suddenly said to baby Fiona.. "Kiss him, Kiss him!" At first i thought nothing of it cos she was only 19 months old and probably wouldnt know what kiss was.. But then she suddenly leaned her face forward and kissed my cheek! Oh my gosh! I blushed. She even tried to kiss my lips! Gosh! I had to lean backwards to avoid those lustrous kisses otherwise people around me would think i was a pedophile or something.

The most memorable incident about me and my lovely baby Fiona was when she was sitting on my lap facing me. She looked into my eyes. Those eyes brought warmth and a sweet sensation that till now i still long for that face. Anyway, she looked at me and then suddenly, she FARTED. It was kinda funny feeling the vibration coming from her butt and all but that cute girl smiled and laughed at me after she farted. OMG! How CUTE! I whined to her sisters telling her how she farted at me but at the same time, i felt happy that she farted otherwise i wouldnt have seen the smile across that cute face and the chuckle that arose from her.

Departure back to our homes was the saddest part for me and i wanted to spend more time with her. At the same time i felt sorry for my siblings and all the other aunties and uncles who tried carrying her as all she wanted was.. ME. =) I cant wait to see her again next sunday. The family of 6 will be flying back to New Zealand on the 2oth.. The start of my examinations. Argh. What perfect timing. Oh wells. =(

These may sound weird but these are my new year resolutions...

1) Attain full GPA score.
2) Get into one of the top 3 unis. Either NTU or SMU
3) Pass my driving on 1st attempt. (April)
4) Be a high ranking officer in NS
5) Catch up with friends
6) Fulfill my unfulfilled obligations....

I'm finally 20! This year's birthday was hell lot of fun. It's something worth recording. These are the events that happened..

Wednesday, 12 November.

When i was in school, everything was normal. My classmates asked me if i was free on Friday to celebrate Brenda's birthday. I dont know why they always dont say... "Celebrate your birthday and brenda's birthday". Anyway, i said i was free and they said tmr (13 Nov), they were going to bring scissors and give me a makeover. I think hui said something like she was going to spray paint my hair or something. haha. Then in the evening, when i went for my cca, everything was normal. Pet said that Jazreel and Isaac would be late for session and asked if i wanted to wait for them. When she said that, i was pondering why Isaac and Jazreel would be together and why they would be late... Then Pet said something like she didnt want to interfere in their personal lives. Then i thought... Cant be what... They together meh? Then suddenly... The lights went off... And then Jazreel and Isaac came into the room with a cake. I was so stunned... Seeing the 2 long candles on my cake then they asked me to make my wish... But i was too stunned to think of my wish and then i quickly made my wish. So sweet of them to remember my birthday and celebrate my birthday with me...

Thursday (13 Nov)

Today was the actual day of my birthday. I woke up... feeling sick... I went to school and of course my friends wished me. I still cant believe that dingzhi kissed me on the neck and wished me happy birthday. omg. Anyway, i was so sick that i kept crossing my arms... Cos i was shivering in cold and kept sneezing. My classmates kept asking me to pon lecture and go back and rest but i could not because i had project discussion in the evening from 4-6 and after which i promised to meet syak for dinner to celebrate my birthday.

When the evening finally came, i was feeling a lill sad and depressed cos my sec sch friends whom i thought would remember to wish me didnt but the happy thing is all those new friends whom i didnt expect to wish me did. So yea... I was also sad too cos i asked sheean and vivian to meet me for dinner together with syak but they were not free.. So i was quite sad that my 2 good pals couldnt meet me... So anyway, i went to meet syak. Minghao and yangzhi came with him and wished me. Syak treated me to dinner! =) When we were having dinner suddenly syak turned to me and said... "Aloysius, can u remember how we always celebrated your birthday in sch?" Then i said "No? Cos my birthday always on holidays" When i immediately said that, sheean and vivian popped out behind me and wished me happy birthday. They bought a small cake with a candle. (Awww... So sweet.) And then suddenly, my faced brightened up. (Syak knew). Then he purposely said... Wah... Just now we guys celebrated birthday with you then u so sad and moody then when sheean and vivian come then suddenly so happy." Then i blushed. lol. When i was eating my mini cake, i almost threw up cos i was already so full and my precious daughter kept saying... "Eat, i dont care. I bought the cake for you then u dont eat." Then i had no choice but stuff the cake in my mouth. Then we had cream fight! Well, what can i say? 4 hands were better than 2. Vivi and sheean teamed up to smash my face with cake. argh.

After dinner, we went jamming! Woo! Another fun day, then i wanted to pon school the next day so i called hui and told her my plans but then my daughter overheard my conversation and she scolded me. lol. Then in the end, i promised her that i wont pon and i'd go to sch. haa. We hanged out and jammed till 11+ and i reached home at 12 and went straight to bed...

Friday (14 Nov)

My classmates as mentioned earlier were meeting for dinner today to celebrate "Brenda's birthday" So yea. We were supposed to meet at 7 at Minds cafe. But all of us didnt know how to get there and in the end... Nisah and I, we were the last ones to reach the cafe. One grp of people told me it was at clarke quay and the other grp said Boat quay. So we were walking round the whole of raffles place like 3 times. I was so frustrated and blew up like so many times to nisah. Poor her. lol. But yea. In the end....After walking around for 1 hr, we found the place!

We had dinner there and then we played board games. OMG so fun. There was once whereby we played this game that was something like snap. It's like when u and ur friend have the same card pict you have to shout out the person's nick name. Then there was this incident where i forgot nisah's name and she forgot mine and we were like screaming at each other trying to remember the names and then i laughed till i fell off my chair! Omg. So paiseh. Then after games, my classmates brought out the cake and celebrated Brenda's and my birthday. Then they gave us birthday cards... My bday card was..." I wanted to give you a new porche for you birthday, but i could only afford the screwdrivers." haha. Then they gave me screwdrivers as my present. lol. Funny la. I was even more surprised when hui gave me a personal present. She treated me to dinner. I was so shocked and i told her that i'd treat her back the next time we had a meal together.

This birthday is the most enjoyable. =) 3 different birthday cakes from 3 grps of people. I'm so touched and i'm so happy i have so many good friends. =)

It's been a really hard day today. I really wish she was here right now listening to my problems. Today was the first time i nearly broke down and cried when i was doing accounts. As most of you know, i love accounts and i believe and accounting and I are one but today when i was doing it, i screwed up. My boss gave me this set of cheques and invoices that were in chinese. She said to me in chinese "this set of accounts is a test for you. Let's see if you are capable enough to do it" When i heard that, i was like "yes! now's my chance to prove myself and if i can handle this set of accounts, i'm on my journey to be accounts manager in future" so i smiled at her and said "no problem!"


When i looked at the invoices, i was shocked. It was all in god damn chinese. I looked at the bags in which the invoice was placed in. It was a chinese company located in China. I was like WTF. Then after which i comforted myself and said. "shouldnt be a problem la. Accounts all the same" Then when i was doing it, i experienced many problems and i had to ask my colleague for help but when she couldnt help me, i felt more desperate. I wanted to give up but as you guys know, i'm not someone who would just give up like that so i just perserved on for 2 hours plus accomplishing nothing and staring blankly at those set of invoices.


Then i finally turned to my colleague and said.. "i want to do another company. I cant stand it anymore" then that's where she lashed out at me. That was a slap in my face. At that point i felt whereby i was pushed off the building and landed on my face. After that i looked at the bloody invoices again then i realised.. I know how to do it! What i was gg thru the past 2 hours was that i was having a nervous breakdown and my over confidence was what prevented me from doing the accounts right.

I still feel stupid and i realised that i dont have the mental strength and capability to do my work well. Even the job which i was most confident in had let me down. I do not know who to tell my problems too anymore, dont even know if anyone would be interested. Feel like a shit head...

And finally.. One fine day, monteiro starts to blog again...

Life has been a roller coaster ride for me ever since i came back to Singapore. I'm now working in a local firm, doing accountancy... Boring...

Ok. Yesterday i was packing my things into boxes... My house is undergoing renovation in a few days time so i was packing all my "gems" ok.. stuff that are important but i hardly use into boxes. When i was packing thru my table drawer, never did i realise how many cards i had. Birthday cards and christmas cards dating way back to primary 2. I still remember my pri sch bestie... Koh Chuan wei. haha. Lost contact ever since we went to primary 4 but yea. surprisingly i still remember his name. When i ransacked my drawer deeper, i found my sec sch prefect badge and tie pin. Something which i thought i lost 3 years ago. Then i came across a lovely badge, still clean and shinning and not removed.. A gift from my unofficial gf daphne. She gave it to me in year 1 when we were at Millenia Institute. The words on the wrapper were.. Pin this somewhere and you'll think of me. Well, i didnt pin it, but i sure kept it close to me. Soon, i found a gift from my sec sch form teacher. It was a mini card the size of a 50 cent coin and on it had a smiley face the size of a 10 cent coin. In it were the words... "good luck for your o levels" Unpacking further, i found money! Yes, hidden at the bottom of the all the birthday cards, i found abt $100? After seeing the money, i then realised that last time i used to keep money esp old $2 orange notes and $1 notes in my drawer. I also found the old green $5 and $50 note and of course i even had a brunei dollar note. In my drawer i found 3 wallets, 2 coin purses and 1 string pouch. I also found angpows which dated back to the year of the rat. After clearing everything, i realised what a godly person i was. Guess how many crosses i found? I found 10! All in the forms of keychains, neck-classes, even rosary all given by different people at a different stage in my life. I even found my altar server cross which i used to serve mass with. And of course amongst my midst of treasures there were also recent gifts from my close friends and shan.

Today, i had enough of packing so i decided to polish my guitar. I looked at the guitar and i found how rusty and dirty it was. This guitar has not been cleaned for almost half a year. So i took out my guitar polishing kit and started polishing the strings. I spent 45 mins just cleaning and polishing the strings. I wasted countless toilet paper and polishing cream but it's worth it. When i finally looked at my love again, it is sparkling. Love it. Anything for my baby.

Now killing time blogging, kinda forgot abt my blog too till yesterday. My classie mates have gone to taipei for holiday. Kinda sad i couldnt join them. I was supposed to join them but i was supposed to fly to taipei from beijing but sadly... Anw, they'll be back tmr or thurs i think. Hopefully brother bought or brought something or someone for me? =p

Came back on 30th June night, Monday night. When i came back, i had the craving for prata. haa. So my family and i together with buddy went to eat prata. So miss prata. The next day slacked at home, did a little unpacking before i went to meet my baobei daughter. Went for lunch at anchor point after which went to vivian's house to chill. The first thing her mom saw me. she went like... "Did you put on weight? You look bigger... Slightly taller too" Then i went like.. "Hi aunty. erm. Yea. I put in weight" then she asked me... "so how? Any china girls?" Then i immediately looked at vivian and gave her the stare.. lol. Then i smiled and replied... "No.." After that we chilled out in her room together with sheean whereby they showed me videos of what had happened the last 4 months.

At about 5 30, i went to meet hui for dinner. Went lao pa sat! woo. I had the craving for satay man! haa. When i met her.. I was spoilt for choice over what to eat. so er. I was walking around looking for food and seats and when we finally found the satay stall we sat there and somehow we ordered dishes "zhi cha". Had kangkong! sambal stingray! Sambal Sotong! and SATAY! :D all chilli. lol. Then when eating... omg. The chilli was too hot. Couldnt take it. Anyway, after that we went to china town... Supposed to go clarke key and hang out but in the end... Couldnt find our way and i needed to buy staff for my china colleague so went to china town.

The funny thing is that when i was there, i couldnt help myself not speaking to the stall tenders in chinese. I even asked hui like "why the hell am i speaking in chinese?! I'm not in china anymore! Then i told her. Ok. next stall... got to speak in english. and guess what! When i went to the next stall.. i went like.. 你好.(ni hao) *how do you do- in chinese* ah sheesh. I slapped my forehead when i said that. Hui was laughing and i think the stall keeper thought i was mad. ok. anyway. after that we went to macs have a drink before going home...

On wed, went to meet buddy. She wanted to sign up for basic theory and so i thought ok. Let's meet up. So i went to school to pick her up before we went to ang mo kio area to sign up for her basic theory. Based on past experience, everytime i went out with her, she would always sleep in the bus. So i got my mp3 and everything ready just in case she fell asleep. But that day. She was super high. She talked to me the entire journey.. telling me stuff that happened over the past 4 months and everyting. I was totally surprised and all. we went for lunch together at Ang mo kio. LAKSA! before we went to the driving centre. After that I sent her home then i slept in the bus back home while listening to my mp3. Guess what songs i was listening to? 晴天, 我可以, 约定, kiss goodbye... Omg. Officially become half china man.. All chinese songs. Even on the bus journey on the way to AMK, i asked buddy whether she wanted to listen to Chinese songs. haa. And she gave me the stare.... lol


on Thurs, hmm i went to school to meet my lecturer. Updated her on the visa issue and told her that currently we are waiting for the HR director to reply me. She has to get the form from the beijing govt in china before she can fax it to me and i can go extend my visa. So... yea. I'm not exactly having holiday here. But can just say it's a temp break from work. After that i ran into daniel and cyg in the canteen and we sat there and chatted abt china...

Then i went to meet my long lost friend Brenda (not buddy). Kinda wierd cos havent really seen and talked to her ever since sec 4 and when i was in china we somehow chatted on msn and yea got a lot of things to catch up so we met for lunch at SIM where i had CHICKEN RICE! ok. erm. after that we were thinking of going geylang to have durians but i was sweating my ass out so i told her maybe we meet for dinner in the evening or something. (singapore's weather blady humid sia). So we went newton in the evening and erm. had dishes (zhi cha) again. haa.

On friday... Hmm. I cant remember what i did on friday... Someone refresh my memory?

On sat.. went to church meet up with church friends. Then i went out with jerry, hilda and lynette to chill at grapevine. I had the craving for mai yo chi (sesame chicken) so i kept bugging jerry to eat with me. After that wanted to go to jerry's house to play ps3 but too tired so by the time we reached there, just slept over at his place.

On sun... Hmm.. Supposed to go meet church brenda for mass. But woke up late at jerry's place. So yea. Didnt go anywhere. Went to vilocity in the afternoon with my family where my dad had his hair shaved for charity. Then after that went to eat dinner then went home to rush report.

So that's how i spent my week. Yup. How interesting. going running soon. Napfa coming =(

woah.. I just realised it's been more than 1 month since i last blogged. Let me try and recall what happened over the past month...

Hmm... Last month i celebrated 5 people's birthday... Rebecca's, My HR director's (Alice) my 姐姐 (Cindy) Pearl's and My china best friend Tracy =) (Just realised all girls... LOL)













During the month, i went sight seeing.. Went to Shilingxia, went great wall again, went to tian an men (the maozhidong place... Went out with pearl and diane... Went shopping... Went shanghai... I went there for 5 days...

Over the month, a lot of things happened... The sichuan earthquake was a shocking news to all. It was also a strange and peculiar experience for me esp during the china 3 days of mourning. I witnessed the live procession.. Everything stopped for that 3 mins.. No TV, buses stopping and letting out pessengers, the internet connection down. Basically everyone stopped working everyday at 2 31pm for 3 mins to stare at the china flag and have 3 mins of silence. It was really sad seeing people cry and all...

Over the month, i found out stuff about my colleagues. Sometimes i feel they are being 2 faced and sometimes i feel i'm thinking too much. It's like rebecca talks to me in that sweet soft tone but i found out that she blocked and deleted me on msn. She asked me to pass something to a guy at level b3 cos she said she didnt like him. I was thinking.. If she didnt like me then why would she ask me to deliver it for her? Then again is it because she's making use of me?

I found out that my 姐姐 didnt want me over to China to have my attachment cos my chinese is weak and sometimes she keeps calling me 笨小强 and at times she says things like.." i'm the most effective and efficient worker in the company." I sometimes wonder if she only says that if she is really desperate in needing my help.

I found out that my GM keeps saying we are trouble makers. Sometimes can tell he's really joking cos those things aint true, e.g. "your teacher says you are very naughty" but then again sometimes he says stuff like..."you've been a trouble maker in the human resource department"... That i dont know if my colleagues have been bad mouthing me behind my back or he is again joking...

At times, i feel that the colleagues in my hotel are 2 faced. They tell us that they wish we could stay through the olympics and all but when we tried to apply for our work VISA and requested for their help. They seemed quite reluctant. I dont know. Sometimes it's wierd. If only i know what's going thru their minds.

Sometimes i feel really happy and at home when i'm working and i can feel the direct opposite way and feel like just leaving and going back to singapore like immediately. My mind has also been distracted everyday. Subconsciously thinking of someone special. Hard to focus at work sometimes. Need to be really distracted and serious abt stuff then only am i able to focus.

Abt the visa thingy. If all goes well, i'll be back in oct. If not.. I'll be back in july. First week of july. =(
